Our 100 year frame warranty is subject to the following limitations, terms and conditions and warrants to the original owner of a J.Guillem frame that when new it is free of defective materials and workmanship.
Acceptance of a claim does not automatically mean that J.Guillem has assumed responsibility for any damage suffered.
Our liability is confined to what is set out in these warranty conditions. Any liability of J.Guillem for consequential damage is expressly excluded.
The J.Guillem 100 year frame warranty is subject to the bike being used in normal conditions and being properly maintained.
Please note ‘normal conditions’ do not include trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain, riding in severe climates, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities, or any similar activities; such use may damage the bicycle, can cause serious injury to the rider, and in all cases will void this warranty.
This J.Guillem 100 year frame warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, nor to claimed defects, malfunctions or failures that result from abuse, neglect, improper assembly, improper maintenance, alteration, collision, crash (please read ‘Should the worst happen’ section) or misuse.
We recommend a regular check-up of the bicycle by an authorized dealer to overcome signs of potential problems such as corrosion, break, deformation and improper use.
Warranty is restricted to like-for-like replacement of the frame, not cash refunds or exchange for other goods.
This Limited Warranty is made on new J.Guillem bicycles purchased through our website or through an authorised J.Guillem dealer.
In order to exercise your rights under this limited warranty, the bicycle must be presented to an authorised J.Guillem dealer, together with its original proof of purchase or a faithful copy.
Should the bike, or any part determined by J.Guillem to be covered under this warranty, be deemed faulty and/or need to be repaired or replaced, it will be so at J.Guillem’s sole option, which is conclusive and binding.
This warranty excludes the cost of travel or shipment to and from an authorised J.Guillem dealer. Such costs, if any, will be borne by the owner.
If you repair a defective product yourself, or use the services of someone other than an authorised dealer, J.Guillem will not be liable for any damage, failure or loss caused by the use of such unauthorized service or parts and in most cases this warranty will cease to be in effect.
J.Guillem is not liable for incidental or consequential losses, damages (please read our ‘Should the worst happen’ section) or expenses in connection with its bicycle products other than through faulty parts or workmanship as determined by the company on assessing any claim.
Sometimes life’s journey doesn’t go the way we want. So if your J.Guillem bike is damaged in a crash, accident or other incident that damages the frame in a way not covered by our 100 year frame warranty, here’s another reason to feel comfortable riding J.Guillem. We will offer you a crash replacement frame for 50% of its retail price (or nearest equivalent) at that time. The original frame will need be returned to us.
If the frame is within its 100 year normal warranty period, get in touch with your details so we can raise a return number. Then take your damaged bike/frame to your local J.Guillem dealer who will confirm to us that the frame is damaged and supply us with photographic evidence in support of this.
We’ll contact you and arrange for the payment of 50% of the frame’s current price, which includes the cost of shipping (within Europe) to your home or the dealer.
This additional after-care program does not include the dealer’s labour charges for transferring components from the old frame to the replacement.
As with our 100 year frame warranty, this damage cover only applies to the original purchaser of the frame (with the original invoice) or a second owner with a proof of re-certification.
The J.Guillem 100 year frame warranty applies to the original owner. However, if you wanted to sell your bike, or you were to purchase a used J.Guillem frame, this warranty can be ‘re-certified’ (transferred to a new owner) by J.Guillem, for the remainder of its original 100 year period of cover.
The process works like this:
The cost for re-certification is €180, which includes the packaging and one-way shipping charges from our warehouse to you.
If you buy a J.Guillem frame or bike direct from us, it will come with a warranty certificate and invoice. We will have a record of its unique frame number together with your contact details; so your proof of purchase is already established.
If you buy a J.Guillem frame or bike from a dealer, make sure they stamp and sign the appropriate section on the invoice and check to see if your unique frame serial number has been filled in – it will be on the underside of the frame at the bottom bracket shell.
Keep this proof of ownership (we suggest you photograph the original with your mobile phone and archive it somewhere safe) and use it to register your frame through our online form within 30 days of purchase. Without the original proof of purchase and registration we may not be able to honour the warranty.
J.Guillem Titanium components are warranted against defect, workmanship and malfunction, subject to usage under normal conditions as dertermined above, for two years from the date of purchase by the first owner. In such events, we operate a no-quibble replacement policy which can be effected by calling us on +31 (0)186 685941 or, for amore immediate service, through one of our approved dealers.
All non-J.Guillem manufactured parts, are deemed to be covered against defect or malfunction by the individual manufacturer's warranty. However, if a component has failed whilst under warranty, you should first contact our team at info@jguillem.com. We’re here for you and to advise you on your next steps. In most cases we will arrange for you to complete a warranty form and for the return of the faulty part(s).
In some cases we will need to, in turn, have the parts inspected and assessed by our suppliers prior to any remediation, replacement, repair or reimbursement being effected or issued. On receipt of the faulty goods and completed warranty form, we will carry out an assessment and then our customer services team will contact you to inform you of how we believe to best proceed.
